Lindley Parish Guides began on 13th June 1924, with the Brownies starting some 6 years later and Rainbows beginning in November 2007. All 3 groups are thriving and usually have 15-18 Rainbows, 20-24 Brownies and 25-30 Guides in their respective packs.

Each pack has a number of adult leaders, who are unpaid volunteers that undergo regular Guiding Association Training, along with help from Young Leaders and Unit Helpers who are often parents of the girls.

Rainbows are for girls aged 5-7 years, Brownies for girls aged 7-11 and Guides for girls aged 10-14. The aim for all the groups is to introduce the girls to new experiences, challenges and friends in a safe and friendly environment, the only expectation being that everybody does their best.

All the girls make the Promise which is based on:

“I Promise that I will do my best:

To love my God,

To serve the Queen and my country

To help other people and keep the (Brownie) Guide Law”.

All packs meet every Monday evening, (during term time), at Lindley Infants School, Rainbows 5.15-6.15pm, Brownies 6.15-7.30pm and Guides 7.30-9pm.
